Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School Playground
In 2008, Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School in Cheektowaga constructed a new playground for their students. The Foundation proudly made a donation to support the building of the playground. Katherine Simonetta, Foundation Secretary, attended the ribbon cutting ceremony and accepted a plaque on behalf of the Detective Wasyl Potienko Memorial Foundation, Inc.
Cheektowaga Police “Do the Right Thing”
The Foundation is one of the proud sponsors of the Cheektowaga Police Department’s Do The Right Thing program. This program honors youth who are leaders among their peers. These students have committed “random acts of kindness” or simply “do the right thing”. Any adult in the community can nominate a worthy student.
Roswell Park
The Detective Potienko Memorial Foundation was honored to present a Wii System, a Fisher Price Smart Cycle and other computer accessories to the Roswell Park Pediatric Center. The games will allow children to have fun during their stay at the hospital. This donation was made possible by the funds raised at the Foundation’s Annual Golf Tournament.
Cheektowaga Central Union East School
In 2013, the Foundation donated four teeter totters for their new playground.
The Lee Gross Anthone Child Advocacy Center
This Center brings together medical, mental health, and child protection
professionals, prosecutors and the police to address the needs of abused
children and their families. The Foundation assisted in the update of the
Sunshine Room at the Center. It was an honor for the Foundation to be
part of this project.
